Some guests bring UFO sightings. Some bring theology. Derrick Warfel brought both, and made the case that they belong in the same conversation. His new book, UFOs and GOD, published through Forefront Books (an imprint of Simon & Schuster), argues that the modern push to understand unidentified aerial phenomena can't stay separate from the oldest questions humans have asked about creation, meaning, and what else might be out there watching.

Who Is Derrick Warfel?

Warfel isn't a fringe voice chasing headlines. He approaches the UFO conversation the way U.S. Phenomenon tries to: with curiosity first, sensationalism second. That grounded-but-open approach made for one of the more thoughtful conversations we've recorded this year, and it's why he was a natural fit for the show.

Inside UFOs and GOD

The book doesn't try to prove or disprove anything. Instead, it asks what it would actually mean, theologically and personally, if disclosure became real. Are UFOs a threat to faith, or could they deepen it? Warfel walks through that tension with the kind of nuance that's rare in this space, and it's the backbone of our conversation.

Tune In

The full interview was recorded via StreamYard and airs on KVI 570-AM Seattle, with the podcast version rolling out shortly after on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Audible, and Buzzsprout. If you've ever wondered whether the search for life beyond Earth and the search for God are more connected than we admit, this is the episode to start with.
